Client Story
Aside from being a seasoned and very talented trombone player, John Hinchey is also an accomplished, professional music producer, orchestrator, and arranger for everything ranging from R&B, rock, pop, and country studio sessions to high-end cruise ship production shows. Additionally, he is very well known in the music notation world for being the go-to guy for all things Sibelius.
Project Scope
Originally, John had two separate websites — a blog for his existing Sibelius tutorials and a brochure site for his business; but with everything going on, he had neither the time nor bandwidth to juggle both. He needed a solution.
At first glance, it seemed that pulling together three distinct business areas could be a bit challenging, but the key was that they all have one thing in common: music. I exported his existing blog, Notes On Notes, into the new WordPress design. The home page is designed so that all areas of his expertise are highlighted, making it easy for the visitor to find exactly what they came for. The rest of the site highlights his experience as a professional trombone player as well as his music services and client successes, both for musical artists and for corporate productions.
Results
Once the new website was launched, traffic to his site increased by 150% over the following 6-week period, due to laying a stronger SEO foundation with best practices, plus increasing the speed of the site.
